Community Involvement

Since 1978 when we opened our very first Cheesecake Factory restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, the seeds of “service-mindedness” and “giving back” were planted. This mindset has continued to grow and has become one of our core values. Not only are we committed to the unparalleled hospitality and genuine care of our guests, we encourage our staff members to share their time, talent and resources to benefit the communities in which we serve and the many worthwhile charitable causes around the world.

The Cheesecake Factory has inherited a tradition of excellence from our founders, Oscar and Evelyn Overton, whose values shaped our culture and continue to define the character of our Company today.  It is with these values in mind that we proudly established The Cheesecake Factory Oscar & Evelyn Overton Charitable Foundation in 2001.

Our foundation exists to fulfill its mission through enhancing the wellbeing of surrounding communities.  This non-profit organization was created not only as an instrument of financial support, but also as a way to unite our caring and conscientious staff members in charitable causes.

Ways We Give

The Cheesecake Factory ‘Give Back’ Foundation Team Sponsorship

Through our team sponsorship program The Cheesecake Factory ‘Give Back,’ our foundation sponsors staff member teams for fundraising or community service projects benefiting the charities of their choice.

The purpose of this program is to inspire staff, and their friends and families, to get involved with their local communities and the non-profit organizations they care about.

Feeding America

The Cheesecake Factory has partnered with Feeding America®, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, to provide relief to children and adults in need.  Through our $0.25 donation per slice of featured cheesecake we have contributed more than $2.6 million to Feeding America.

Each September our staff members, as well as our two bakery production facilities, conduct a nationwide Peanut

Butter Drive to support Feeding America’s local network of Food Banks.  Last year we donated more than 170,000 pounds of peanut butter and over $500,000 to Feeding America.  Every year our goal is to collect and donate more than 100,000 jars/pounds of peanut butter.

Harvest Program

Given the growing need for hunger relief, The Cheesecake Factory is doing its part to help. The Harvest Food Donation Program involves collecting and donating surplus food from our restaurants to feed hungry people.  The Cheesecake Factory prepares all our menu items from fresh ingredients delivered daily.  Surplus food that no longer meets our gold standard, but is still wholesome and

entirely consumable, is donated to feeding agencies that support local soup kitchens, shelters, transitional housing and after-school programs.

Through this program, we donate more than 500,000 pounds of wholesome food each year.
